WHAT DOES BEING A MEMBER GET ME?
-> Eligibility to participate in club events and go on club trips!

-> Access to our Gear Room, where you can freely borrow gear from our catalogue. We have sleeping bags & pads, tents, lanterns, portable burners, and more! We only ask that you take proper care of borrowed gear and return everything promptly and clean.
WHAT IF I HAVE MY OWN GEAR?
We highly encourage you to use your own gear! Bringing your own stuff helps us save our gear for members who may not have their own.
CAN I JOIN EVEN IF I'M NOT A STUDENT?
No, MSUOC is only for current Michigan State University students.
HOW DO EVENT/TRIP SIGNUPS WORK?
All signups are at meetings. Signups are either a QR code linking to a form, or a spreadsheet. We ask for your student email, phone number, and other relevant fields. For example, signups for trips include asking if you would be willing and able to be a driver.
HOW DOES GOING ON EVENTS/TRIPS WORK?
Once enough spots have been filled, a rides list will be made and sent to your inbox, along with any relevant trip information like reservation info and packing lists. The rides list shows who's going in each car. If you are chosen to be a driver, you must coordinate with your passengers pickup and drop-off schedules.

HOW DO I BORROW GEAR?
Any and all gear can be borrowed from our Gear Room (). When you borrow gear, we take down your information and log the specific piece(s) of gear you're borrowing. The Gear Room is open for short periods of time throughout the week announced by our Gear Rats. These announcements can be found in the "Gear" chat in our GroupMe server. The Gear Room is also open after most meetings.

Before returning any borrowed gear, ensure it is properly cleaned and neatly put away. The more work you do taking care of your gear, the less work our Gear Rats have to do upon return.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL?
Canceling on a club activity will see your spot be given to someone on the waitlist. If you cancel within a week of the activity, you will NOT be refunded, so plan ahead and be sure you can attend all club activities you sign up for.
